The Skills for Independence Pathway took part in a four-day trip to Kingswood this year.  Kingswood worked with The Oaks to carefully design a residential trip that would allow our learners to take part in a range of age-appropriate activities, that would empower learners to challenge themselves – all whilst having fun!

Over four fantastic, fun-filled days, our learners worked towards their personal development targets in a meaningful, real-world context; through a programme that focused on confidence, resilience, and life skills.

Learners worked as teams, and individually, to complete problem solving and resilience tasks, through activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, archery, laser-tag, and vehicle-building.  They also learnt about appropriate personal care and how to look after you own home, during their three night-stay on location at Ashford.

Everyone had an incredible time, and we are all excited for the Skills for Independence residential next academic year!
