A number of learners went on a seven-day sailing trip in June. They set sail from Portsmouth and travelled around the Isle of Wight, helping with all things associated with the sailing of a sailboat. This included, putting up and taking down the sails, navigating, steering, cooking for all the crew and the full cleaning of the boat.
They sailed through good weather and some choppy waters, but this did not deter them in their tasks. They worked on several skills: teamwork, independent work, resilience, problem solving and communication.
All members of the crew had a truly unforgettable and enjoyable trip.
